From Lukas regarding the blue screwup...

Friends,

We tried to have an orderly and fair Super-launch. What can we say? We
tried, and failed. The server crashed, and continued to crash despite our
efforts to handle the bandwidth. Finally, SAE stripped the site back to its basics, leaving only the Superman ordering up for now and that seemed to work. As demand subsides, we'll turn the other stuff back on.

If you order anytime in the next day or so, you should be fine and you'll have your copy in a regular amount of time (they are presently on their way to us from the manufacturer). We will post updates, too.

While things have vastly improved since later this afternoon, please accept our apologies. The overload was just too much.

And yes, the 50 signed copies are all gone -- if you got one, consider yourself very very lucky.

Thanks!

LK

Hello Lukas and SAE´s Staff!!

If you let me, please, I like to make a pair of suggestions:

- Lukas, please, for another time, don´t give any clue... Hysterical people, the 2 millions Blue Box threads, all online sites around the world (Soundtrackcollector, Musicfromthemusis, all JW´s sites...) advertising the release before the "BB Day"... All this play against the Website´s traffic.

- Craig and SAE´s friends. I think if you post your release in A.M. US hours the website won´t crash... At A.M. US hours only Europe and Asia buys, so when US people goes at P.M. hours there aren´t conglomerations...

Is like Varese Club´s release works, I think...

I don't mean to bother you friends. Only a little suggestions.

Many thanks for the great release and the shipping & handle. You´re the best!

And take a rest this weekend... what a pair of days you´ve had!!! ;)

Byes.

Thank for the suggestions! These things have a way of working out over time and it seems all is working well this morning. We won't do it the same way again, we promise.

Lukas, thanks for the release. You really should put the boxset pic on the SAE site, it does the set way more justice. Looking forward to a night of listening ! Guy

Hi,I'm sort of new at ordering online.I ordered my copy yesterday afternoon. My order was finally completed at 5pm EST.

I got the Page saying....

"Thank you for your order!
We have received your submission and will begin processing it immeditaly. Please print this page for your records. If you are sending payment by check or money order, please send mail to:"

And then it has the address and the email for any questions on the order and my order number.

Like I said,I'm not use to ordering online. Was I also supposed to get an email confirmation of my order going through as well?I saw on the different forums, people mentioning getting a email confirmation after placing their order.I never did and still haven't.

When I log into Screen Archives,in my account,my order is there though.

Order placed on: 2/21/08 Order ID:My order number

When I go to view order.Everything is there. My order#,Date order was placed. For Status,it says PENDING

Shipped to:my shipping address
Bill to:My credit card info from the credit card I used for this order such as last four digits of card and Expiration date.

And finally
Qty Title Unit Price Item Total
1 SUPERMAN: THE MUSIC (1978-1988) $119.95 $119.95

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

SubTotal: $119.95

Shipping: $10.20

Total: $130.15"

I'm a little concerned though since I didn't get a email confirmation. Was I supposed to after placing the order? And is the Status saying Pending correct?Does that just mean it hasn't shipped out yet?

I did email about this at orders@ascreenarchives.com

I got back the responses-"you get it – no problem - ed" and "All is well"

Should I assume then that my order went through fine and I'm worring about nothing?

It's a bird ?, It's a plane ?, I'm dreaming ?, noooooo !!!, It's the blue box.
I have the Rhino and Varèse releases, but this is what I've been looking for, " the kryptonian definitive edition ".
Excellent luxury package, perfect release.
Congratulations to everybody around this project.
Bye.

Nice box set... bought your first box but have no intention of buying this one. While a beautiful job as usual, I can't bring myself to ordering this for what amounts to two scores, the rest being, for lack of a better word, nonsense. John Williams is not my favorite composer by a long shot, nowhere in the league of Goldsmith or Bernstein or Herrmann or... need I say more?

Thanks for all the hard work put into making the blue box a reality for Superman fans everywhere.
I've already ordered one and I'm very excited about having a top listening and reading session.
I must say though, I believe you have absolutely nothing to apologise for. You can't be blamed or held responsible for the frantic and immature behaviour of an unfortunate percentage of film score fans. They are to blame for not having any patience, but what else is to be expected in this age of almost everything on-demand.
Thanks again, I can't wait until it gets here.
